What is 'Glass' ? How formed it !

Hey friends,
Today we learn about an other interesting topic, is about 'Glass'. We can see the many things around of us that made from glass like window, bulbs, TV screen etc. Did you ever think about it how to form glass or why the glass is transparent.
In this topic we understand facts about the glass and finding the answer of following questions :-
* What is Glass ?
* How to form Glass ?
* Why Glass is transparent ? and
* Is Glass solid or liquid ?

What is Glass ? :-

Generally glass is a rigid transparent material that often use widespread practical, technological, and decoration.

How to form Glass ?

Formation of glass is an interesting phenomena. Glass can formed by melting of 'Sand' with 'Soda ash' (Sodium Carbonate) and 'Limestone' (Calcium Carbonate) at extremely high temperature approx 1700°C . Glass can be obtains by only heating the sand at high temperature more then 2000°C so add the sodium for reducing the melting point of sand, but it has major drawback its produce such a glass which desolving into the water so we use the Calcium for controlling for this. Such type of glass called 'soda-lime silica' (which is generally used for basic purpose)

Glass can be modified in different forms by using different chemicals. Use the metallic salt for coloring of glass, for green tinted glass use iron and chromium during the melting of sand.
Oven proof can produced by using Boron-Oxide so its also called Borosilicate Glass.
Bullet proof glass can be formed by using the laminate of multiple layer of glass and plastic bounded together.

Why Glass is transparent

Have you seen a Spectacles or a lens, what the material used? Is Glass. Glass is used in lenses because it is transparent ! This is a amazing property of glass. Before understanding the science behind the transparency of glass, let's understand the science of non-transparent materials. When the light photon attacks on the atom of nontransparent material the energy of the photon absorbed by an electron and jumped into high level from lower level. While its contrast with transparent material. When the light photon attacks on the atom of transparent material, but it is not sufficient energy to exciting the electron and the photon passed over it. Conclusion is that the nontransparent material absorbed the light while transparent material not.

Glass is solid or liquid !

Glass is a rigid material but it is not a perfect solid like metal it can show some properties of liquid. It contain crysteline structure of molecules like solid while it's also contains randomly moved structure like liquid. This type of material is also known as Amorphous solid. Glass is also an amorphous solid. It's significant example is your old glass window, it's bottom side is ticker then upper side that mean the glass is flowing downward with lowest rate.

So let's close this topic. I hope you enjoy it.

Induction cooking | Working theory | Health and Sefty | How induction cooktop work |

Induction cooking is the the amazing technology, it helps in providing efficient heating instead of old method like flame or heating element. its work on the theory of electromagnetic induction . induction cook top In above picture there are an induction cook top having an multitasking key panel and several keys for different work. it is safer and efficient then any old cooking method. heating can control easily by this. induction cooking works on the principle of electromagnetic induction, hence its produce heat only in pot placed over top. Working theory of induction cooking : Induction heating The induction produce a large heat in the cookware and reduce the time of cooking. its only supports the ferromagnetic cookware, or the cookware having a metallic plate at the bottom. the cook top works on the electromagnetic induction principle.  Electromagnetic induction is the process in which the electric current produce in the circuit due to change in magnetic f...

Why the Earth revolving around the Sun? And Why the earth also spinning around it's own axis?

Hey friends, Today we learn about another interesting topic about revolving of the earth around sun and spinning around it's own axis. From primary class to higher class we learn that earth revolving around the sun. And spinning around own axis which cause to happening day and night. But you ever thinking why its happen?    In this article we trying to find out the answer of following questions. Why the Earth (or planets) moves around the sun? Is the sun really positioned in the center of solar system? Why the Earth spinning around own axis? When till the Earth spinning? W hy the Earth (or planets) moves around the sun?    Every object in the space is moving continuously with relative to its nearest heavier mass object. Earth is also moves around the sun. There are two famous theories behind this. rotation of earth around the sun *  First according to Isaac Newton the Earth moves around the sun because the higher gravitational force act on ...

How Inverter Works | What is Inverter | AC and DC current | Electrmagnetic induction | Type of inverter |

We can't imagine a our life without electricity. its become basic need of everyday life. the electronic devices like smart phone, T.V, A.C , electric moter and many more consume lots of electricity. just imagine a day without electricity, we could not use the any kind of electronic device. the electricity is fuel of our daily used appliances. there are two different types of electricity used in our houses and offices. these two types are Alternating current (AC)  and Direct current (DC) . let understand these both types of electricity in brief AC (Alternating Current) is a type of current that flows in both directions positive and negative, and continuously change it direction about 50 to 60 time in a second. since its continuously change their direction hence its called the alternating current. DC (Direct Current) is that type of current which flows in only one direction either positive or negative. it doesn't change their direction with time. since its flows i...
